FAQ - Oil on Canvas

How do you prevent oil paint from damaging the canvas?
Just like oil on paper, the canvas must be prepared with a protective coating. Several layers of acrylic medium or gesso are added to ensure the longevity of the piece.

Does the artwork have a protective coating?
Yes, I use Gamvar gloss varnish to seal and protect the front and sides or your artwork.

Is the artwork durable? Yes! Once the artwork is dry and sealed with varnish the surface is protected from dust, light scratches and fading.

How should I care for my oil painting? Oil paintings should be kept out of direct sunlight and high humidity. The surface can be dusted with a soft cloth.

Can I frame this artwork?
Yes! As of right now, I don't offer framing for canvases. However, a professional framer can help you find the perfect fit.

Is the painting ready to hang?
Yes! Your piece will come with the sides painted, and hanging hardward attached, perfect for placing on the wall as soon as it arrives
